Nokia Browser 2.0 for Series 40 Phones Now Available for Download

Nokia Browser 2.0 screenshotNokia has just announced a new version of its mobile browser for Series 40 phones. Nokia Browser 2.0 is now available for download to all those who still use the Finnish company’s feature-phones.

The application promises to improve on the predecessor version and enhances speeds for faster browsing and reduced data consumption by up to 90%.

In addition, the latest Nokia Browser 2.0 comes with a completely new user interface that offers users one click access to search, most popular content and most valuable features.

According to Nokia, the mobile browser is capable of loading websites up to three times faster in comparison to devices without cloud-accelerated browsing.

With a new and improved Download Manager, users will be able to manage external content more easily, saving music, video or pictures on a memory card, while browsing the Internet.

The latest update introduces several important features for developers, such as new monetization capabilities, more extensive user interface options for their web apps, as well as productivity improvements for Nokia Web Tools.

For the time being, Nokia Browser 2.0 is fully compatible with all Series 40 devices, such as Touch, QWERTY and Non-Touch.

That includes the entire Nokia Asha series of phones, along with other popular feature-phones such as the Nokia C3-00, Nokia C2-03 and Nokia X3-02.

Nokia also confirmed that the new version of Nokia Browser would come pre-loaded on some current and all future Nokia Series 40 devices. However, existing users will be able to update to Nokia Browser 2.0 for free.

Nokia Browser 2.0 is now available for download via Nokia Store and supports 87 languages in over 200 countries and territories.
